LASS are keen to improve the health and wellbeing of all individuals from all cultures and ‘walks’ of life. We are arranging short walks within Leicestershire to appreciate the beauty and scenic value of our county, whilst providing the opportunity to meet new people and to get to know your local walking environment.
The walks are led by Volunteers to ensure your safety, and most importantly, to ensure you have a good time. We plan to schedule the walks on the second Sunday of each month leaving LASS at 12:00 noon (in the van to the walking area if you need a lift!). We aim to leave the start point, each time at 12:45.
Out walks will be short, (between 4-6 miles), gentle and friendly. They are tailored to match the ability of those walking. (Please bring a packed lunch and any refreshments you may need.
The health benefits of walking for just 30 minutes a day speak for themselves. You stand a good chance of enjoying improved mood and wellbeing, help in keeping your weight (if you need to), stronger bones, muscles and joints, improved sleep and reduced risk of heart disease, certain cancers and type II diabetes.
